  • Is it true that Lea De Mae is ill?
    Unfortunately yes.

  • What kind of illness is it?
    A rare and aggressive cancer in her brain.

  • Is there any cure?
    This is a hairy question. If we didn't believe that there's a cure, if we didn't believe that Lea De Mae can make it, we would not be able to do all we do to help her. Statistics look grim, but they are only statistics. It's a dangerous situation, but Lea once told me that she likes dangerous situations. Of course she didn't have in mind what she experiences now. But Lea is an extremely sportive, young lady and full of energy and she has the will to survive. She wants to shoot again, she wants to marry and raise a family, she wants to be a veterinerian (she loves dogs), she has plans and she loves to live! A day is not over until the sun goes down.

  • What have the doctors done so far?
    Lea De Mae had to undergo a surgery in the middle of August. The tumor was cut out as far as possible by Dr. Benes in the Military Hospital in Prague in the midlle of August 2004. He's considered one of the best in his field in Europe. From the end of September to the end of October she had radio (60gy) and chemotherapy (temozolomid). In November doctors had to install a shunt and an ommaya reservoir.

  • What happens next?
    We don't know and they don't know either. There are discussions about a second treatment with temodal or with BCNU. However, before a second therapy can start she MUST be in a better condition, otherwise it will kill her.

  • Why don't you show medical papers?
    Lucie, Lea's sister, believes it is not necessary to show them everybody on the net. They belong to the private sphere of Lea and are handed out only to specialists and doctors whom we are in contact with. I agree with her.

  • What can I do to help?
    Think of her, send positive vibrations with your heart and soul, you can pray if you believe in a higher spirit. Please help to spread the informations of Lea's page all over the internet and stay tuned! As soon as Lea De Mae needs concrete help, we let you know immediately on Lea's page.

  • May I help her with money?
    Right now money has not first priority, because there's no concrete undertaking that shall be financed. But if you want to send money you find the informations you need on Lea's page. As soon as Lucie, Lea's sister, received your donation, you will be mentioned on the donors list.

  • Is it true that Lea De Mae once belonged to the Czech Olympic Team?
    Yes. She was a member of the Czech Olympic Team in 1998. She was high diver. While training for Atlanta, USA, she had a terrible accident and broke her back, when she jumped from the 10 m tower. She had to lay in a special clinic in Baden-Baden, Germany for 3 months afterwards.

  • Who is running Lea's page?
    It's me. My name is Chris Danneffel. I'm radio announcer, journalist, photographer and one of the German founders of www.pics-and-models.com where we always tried to give honest and true informations about all models we work with. Our motivation was non-commercial as of the beginning and thus my relation to the models always tends to be more friendship than business. I'm a close friend of Lea De Mae and her family.

  • How come you started Lea's page?
    Since June 2003 Lea and I were talking about creating a page for Lea similar to the one of Asia Carrera (www.asiacarrera.com) whom she knows. In June/July 2004 we decided to start with shoots in order to get some material for her website. Soon afterwards she had to go to hospital. When Lea De Mae told me about her illness in September 2004, the same day I built a German website in order to get in contact with clinics and specialists all over the world, but mainly in Germany. Some weeks later I got aware that Lea's former manager, Olda Widman (Dream Entertainment, Prague), raised a medical fund for Lea and began to let the world know about Lea's illness. Since I already had many informations about what was going on with Lea, at this point I put Lea's English page online, which is a special version for Lea's friends and fans.

  • What's your intention behind Lea's page?
    I wanted to give Lea's friends and fans the information that I would like to get if I were out there somewhere surfing the net for news about Lea. I think that well informed people will be more likely ready to help Lea De Mae as soon as we need their help than people who have only poor information.

  • Do you get any money for what you're doing?
    There are people who wanted me to receive some money in order to cover my expenses. That's nice of them. But I would never except it! Lea is a close friend of mine. Even before I knew she's so famous she never wanted to be paid higher than an unknown newcomer. And - unlike most other models - all non nude casual (NNC) shoots with me she did for free! How could I think of taking any money for what I'm doing for her now? I'm driven by my heart, I stay away from the money issue!

  • Who is Lucie?
    Lucie is Lea De Mae's sister. She is 2 years younger and also a high diver! Although Lea and Lucie were not bosom buddies because of different opinions about Lea's life style and profession, Lucie loved and loves her sister and busily cares for Lea all night and day ever since she became ill. If Lea is not able to communicate, Lucie is number 2 for me. Either Lea or Lucie reads what I write on Lea's page. They make proposals and they are the ones with a right for veto.
